Windsor Res put in a strong performance but were enable to get anything against a ruthless Lynchpin side, as Lynchpin came back to defeat Windsor Res 3-1.
Windsor went into the game bolstered by some returning faces and some first team players also gave debut to midfielder Maaj Yousaf.
A new look Windsor Res started strongly and had opportunities early to take the lead but failed to convert in horrible windy conditions. Windsor Res took the lead after 15 mins as Travis Hodge got on the end of a Jay Thompson flick which saw Hodge race through and slip in between the Lynchpin keeper and centre back to poke home the opening goal, Windsor were on top and had opportunities to double their lead as Haydon Richardson saw his effort go just past the post. Windsor were dominating all areas of the game as the defence of Jake Jenkins and Jack Evans kept the Lynchpin attack quiet. Windsor had another opportunity as full back Nahir Nawaf broke through but he could not keep his effort on target, with minutes to go before the break, Lynchpin got back into the game as a mix up at the back saw Jenkins divert the ball into his own net. Both sides went into the break level 1-1.
2nd Half with the wind now favouring Lynchpin it was Lynchpin who got more involved in the game and started to create chances but again both sides were lacking the killer instinct in the final third, Windsor had opportunities to take the lead as Cheyenne Cripps went close twice with 2 headers but failed to keep his efforts on target in a cagey 2nd half it was only going to take one more goal to win it, Windsor made changes as the legs were tiring and this effected the shape of the side and with minutes to go a long ball over the top caught the windsor back line and allowed Lynchpin striker Dean Papali to sneak in and chip the ball over the advancing Windsor keeper, as Windsor went looking for the equaliser late on gaps appeared in the back which allowed Lynchpin to kill the game off at the death as again Papali got on the act as he finish expertly and Lynchpin ran out 3-1 winners. Windsor next game is away to Iver Heath Rovers on Saturday.
