Windsor Reserves pulled of a major cup upset as they beat Hellenic Div 1 side Holyport FC in the first round of the Berks & Bucks cup.
It was a good start to the season as a new look Windsor Res won in Extra time in their first competitive game of the season.
Windsor Res came back from 4-2 down to take the game into extra time and eventually winning 7-6.
Holyport started the brightest as they showed their higher league quality and took an early lead as Windsor switched off at the back.
Windsor didnt look short of quality as they created host of chances but failed to convert as Windsor kept fluffing their lines going forward and they were all over the place at the back as Holyport doubled their lead midway through the first half when again Windsor failed to clear and Holyport made them pay.
Windsor hit back though and pulled a goal back thanks to Sukh Malhi who got on the end of a Chris Bernard cross shot.
As Windsor looked to get back into the game as chances went begging through Bernard and Cripps it was Holyport who increased their lead again with a counter attacking move.
Moments before half time Windsor pulled a deserved goal back as Holyport defender John Brennan headed into his own net assist by Bernard. Holyport went into the break 3-2 up.
2nd half Windsor made changes as Nash Mohammed and Nadir Shafi come on, Windsor pushed for the equaliser as chances were thwarted as Nabil Douhi and Jack Evans went close.
With 10 minutes remaining in the game Holyport got the 4th goal which looked to have sealed the win.
As Port made changes Windsor kept pushing and got a goal back with minutes to go as Curtis Boweren got on the end of a Shafi cross.
Windsor kept pushing till the end and finally were rewarded for their pressure with a equalizing goal thanks to man of the match Nash Mohammed who from the edge of the box smashed home to make it 4-4 and send the game to extra time.
Windsor Res looked the fitter side going into Extra time and this showed as Windsor made it 5-4 thanks to Cheyenne Cripps who finished smartly after being put through by Nash.
Nash was running the show and he was on hand to set up the 6th goal for Windsor as he set up Boweren to get his 2nd of the game.
Windsor made it 7 moments later to thanks to a smart finish by Nabil Douhi, it was devastating 5 minute spell saw Windsor score 3 goals.
Holyport hit back just before the first half of extra time make it 7-5. Windsor were holding on in the 2nd half as they dealt with all kinda of pressure from Holyport but solid defending by Chris Tierney and smart keeping from Harry Butler kept Holyport at bay.
Holyport did pull another goal back late on to make it a nervy last minute but Windsor held on to secure their passage into the 2nd round.
