Windsor Football Club wrapped up a historic day with a 2-1 win against Slough Town in their first ever match.
After five and a half months of no football at Stag Meadow and a lot of hard work behind the scenes, Windsor FC finally took to the pitch and didn't disappoint.
Despite an early scare that saw Danny Burnell fire over from close range, Windsor started to look organised and soon began to cause their guests the odd problem.
Ryan O'Toole managed to shake off both Adam Logie and Dave Woozley before shooting just wide of the post.
Slough had what looked like a good call for a penalty turned down when Kyle Anthony brought down Burnell but referee Alex Groves turned the appeals away.
Shortly after Windsor took a deserved lead when Ryan Ashe headed the ball to O'Toole who managed to shrug off Ben Sturgess before sliding the ball past Charlie Fanner.
Half time cam with a change from both sides, but there was no let up with the pressure from Windsor.
Ryan's O'Toole and Ashe combined well on the edge of the area to allow O'Toole a shot that unfortunately hit the side netting.
The Rebels defence then proceeded to try and help the Windsor attack when Adam Logie and Dean Harper tackled each other allowing O'Toole to run through but his effort went across goal and wide of the post.
Windsor soon doubled their lead thanks to more good work from O'Toole who managed to beat Woozley before pulling the ball back to Joe Chandiram who fired past Jamie Jackson.
Slough pulled a goal back a few minutes later when Paul Coyne's cross found the head of Woozley allowing Burnell to head in from close range.
Windsor keeper Mark Banfry had a pretty quiet afternoon but when Steve Sinclair struck from a tight angle Banfry did well to keep the ball out of the net.
Ben Hudell came close for Windsor as he sent a free kick just wide of the post followed by Ryan Ashe who came that little bit closer and clipped the bar with his effort.
A late effort for Slough saw Woozley head Coyne's corner onto the post as Windsor held on for a fitting result on this historic day.
