Saturday 17th October 2020Windsor once again suffered a narrow defeat going down 1-2 at home to Holmer Green.
The match started so well for Windsor who were a goal up after only 4 minutes.
Oscar Harrison brought down Corey Parchment in the box earning the hosts a penalty which Billy Montague slotted past Sam Butcher.
Montague then whent close to doubling the lead when he lifted the ball over James Bent's head before sending the ball over the bar.
The visitors had chances of their own and Dom Sullivan almost capitalised when Nojus Trinovas took two attempts to gather the ball from a quickly taken free kick.
Trinovas then did well to save with with his feet when Edirin Eghwrudje broke free.
Holmer Green managed to pull level just before half time when Jethro Odumoso managed to pick the ball up on the egde of the area before firing low past Trinovas.
Shouts for a penalty from the visitors when Odumoso appeared to go down under a challenge from Trinovas where turned away and Odumoso was shown a yellow card for simulation as the half drew to a close.
Windsor were forced into a change at the break when captain George Gould had to be replaced by Jamie Hope.
Chances were few and far between in a second half that really took some time to get going.
It took until the 72nd minute before any sort of chance materialised when David Hoar hit a spectulative effort from the half way line that went just over.
Into the last 10 minutes and Windsor continued to push for a winning goal. Montague ran through only for Butcher to save his effort and the Keaton August sent the rebound wide.
At the other end a fantastoc double save from Trinovas to deny Mickael Adouan and Dean Munday in the final minutes looked to have at least earnt a draw for the host but Holmer Green weren't done there.
Jamie Mitchell managed to break through and find Odumoso who added his second of the match.
