Windsor FC are one game away from their first ever Berks & Bucks Senior Trophy final after a 2-1 extra time win against holders Newport Pagnell Town.
Having already had the game cancelled once due to a frozen pitch both sides were obviously keen to get the match over with.
Windsor made a good start to the match and were soon ahead when Ben Harris got on the end of Rob Bullivant's free kick giving Michael Chennells room to tee up Robert Lazarczuk who hit a 25 yard low drive past Josh McAdoo.
Newport should have pulled level ten minutes later when Matt Broomes got his head to Dom Lawless' skewed shot only for the ball to come back off the bar.
Tough challenges seemed to be the order of the night and when substitute Dave Baker scythed down Chris Ellis referee Mr Lowe's reason for not booking him was due to the ball being out of play.
The second half saw Windsor keep up the pressure seeing both Michael Chennells and Ryan O'Toole denied by McAdoo and Kyle Anthony hit the post.
Newport did manage to pull level when Dom Masala sent the ball into the box where Scott Mulkern managed to turn and send the ball past Bullivant.
Chennells was again denied by McAdoo at the death and the game was forced into extra time.
By now tired legs were beginning to show but Windsor still seemed to have the upper hand and were again denied by McAdoo when Yashwa Romeo got on the end of Ellis' long throw.
Windsor struck the eventual winner just before the change round when Ben Porter's quick thrown allowed Chennells to find O'Toole who struck from the edge of the area to finally beat McAdoo.
The challenges continued to fly in and saw Sean McBride pick up a caution with a heavy challenge on Romeo which many thought warranted a straight red.
McBride's evening ended with him picking up a second yellow card having escaped punishment minutes earlier.
