Windsor's first outing in the Uhlsport Hellenic Premier Division didn;t go according to plan when they were beaten 1-0 away at Tuffley Rovers.
With Windsor still missing Riccardo Cannon, Emmanoyil Goganos and skipper Kieran Knight, Manager Mick Woodham had to draft in Elliott Woodham and Billy Oram to fill the gaps.
Windsor started brightly enough with an early chance falling to Luke Brooks-Smith who was unfortunate to shoot just wide of the target.
The hosts were also close to going ahead when Ben Tunnicliff headed just wide from a corner.
The best chance of the first half fell to Billy Oram when his cross evaded everyone in the box and clipped the top of the crossbar.
Despite the ever increasing number of fouls from both sides Kevin Bungay had done well to keep his cards in his pocket until the early stages of the second half when Shayne Anson had a little bit too much to say for himself.
Shortly after Elliott Woodham joined Anson in the book for a high foot challenge on Mark Ford.
Woodham was then unlucky not to put Windsor ahead when the ball fell for him from a corner only for a defender to get in the way.
Tuffley managed to take the lead when a Windsor free kick was cleared leaving Shayne Bradley one on one with Hug Sobte with the striker slotting the ball past the Windsor keeper.
Moments later Tuffey were down to 10 men when Shayne Anson took down Nadir Shafi earning a straight red card with Luke Brooks-Smith going very close from the resulting free kick.
Bith Cheyenne Cripps and Barry Halyes had good chances to get Windsor back into the game but there was to be no perfect start to Windsor's first Hellenic League season.
