Scotty Visits Bright Start Nursery
Windsor FC mascot Scotty the Stag made a flying start to his close season last week. The big hearted stag was on hand to help out Bright Start Pre-School Nursery in Testwood Road. The occasion was the spring fair which was raising funds towards playground developments including a new wildlife nature trail. Scotty ensured that all comers were entertained with his usual larger than life antics and he was even afforded the considerable honour of drawing the raffle!! Scotty was a big hit especially with the large numbers of children from the nursery who were in attendance. Sarah-Jane Dodd, Business Development Manager at Bright Start commented "It was great that Windsor FC and Scotty the Stag were able to support our spring fair. Scotty was a real bonus attraction on he day and all the children loved him. With Scotty's help we were able to raise nearly £600 towards our playground renovations incorporating the new wildlife nature trail. When the trail is in place it will become an important addition to our overall facility as it will help support the children's knowledge particularly around the World Curriculum. We really enjoyed having Scotty with us and we sincerely hope he will come and visit us again soon." Marc Pugh from Windsor FC Supporters Club added "Windsor FC and Scotty the Stag were so pleased to be able to help such a great nursery with really friendly people. I know Scotty thoroughly enjoyed his afternoon and he has made a lot of new friends. As an organisation Windsor FC and the Supporters Club are very keen to help important local community facilities such as Bright Start wherever its possible for us to do so. All of us at Windsor FC are very much looking forward to our programme of fundraising commitments for other key local organisations during this close season. Scotty particularly would love to see you all there, so get off the sofa and come and join us." Scotty's next scheduled appearance is at Trinity St. Stephens Summer Fair on Saturday 23rd June. |
