Windsor's Very Own Football Academy

Windsor Football Club and The Windsor Boys' School are joining forces to create a Football Academy for the future development of their respective Youth Teams.

As part of the partnership, The Windsor Boys' School will train each Tuesday with the Football Club's Youth Team. In return, Windsor FC's teams will train on the school's astro-turf pitches each Thursday evening.

Kevin Stott, Founding Director explained, "Our philosophy is one of sustainable growth, and the continuous development of our First Team and Youth Team is a key factor of that growth. Developing a First Team of tomorrow from within the Windsor community is all part of our commitment to long term sustainability.

I am very excited by the opportunities our partnership has created: there are the obvious benefits for the Club, and we can engage with the School to train and identify great players who may join Windsor FC in time. This partnership will lead to a joint skills centre for football and to mark the occasion, we will host a Partnership Kick-Off Showcase during October."

Michael Lewin, Head of Football at The Windsor Boys' School added, "Our partnership with Windsor FC will open up new opportunities for our teams who are keen to develop their football career.

"Our First Team will be playing its National and County Cup Games at Stag Meadow this season, as will our Under 16's. This will incentivise our teams and give new experiences that they may not otherwise have been able to enjoy.

"We are looking forward to our main launch event during the October Half-Term. We have been discussing a week-long Skills Centre which will kick off with a day of motivational speakers before moving onto coaching days. At the end of the week, we will run a series of competitions and awards in recognition of the best players."

Kevin Stott concluded, "As you can see, we are at the grass roots stages of our Partnership and we envisage this evolving and developing with time and mutual progression. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Windsor Boys School for supporting their community club in this way and we look forward to a long and fruitful relationship with them moving forward."
