Scotty the Stag was again the gallant runner up in his latest charity mascot racing escapade.
Scotty finished second in the Royal Borough organised mascot pancake race held in the shopping arcade at Windsor Central Station. Naturally the event was on Shrove Tuesday and featured teams from local businesses competing against one another and also a special mascot race. The mayor Colin Raynor was also on hand to dish out the prizes to the delighted winners.
Scotty flipped and dashed his way past the Nandos Chicken and the East Berks College Square, before losing out to the cow from Cattle Grid in the final. A costly pancake drop on the outward leg of the final effectively ending Scotty's chances. Despite his obvious disappointment Scotty was delighted with his morning's work given his charitable motivation. The whole event was actually in aid of Prince Phillip's Trust and a healthy sum was raised to benefit the great work they do. The organiser Paul Roach from RBWM was delighted with Scotty's contribution to a great event and said Scotty was "an unlucky loser". He went on to say that "Scotty will be more than welcome at next year's event". March 4th 2014 is an early date for your diary to see Scotty try and go one better next year then !
