Stott Lays Out Plans For Future

Stott kicked off the meeting explaining the clubs mission for the comming years which is "to establish and maintain an inclusive community based football club which provides football for all levels and a continuous pathway from 5 years of age to the first team. The Club will operate on sustainable lines and with the ethos of a social enterprise at its very heart."

He went on to say that "Our objective is to create an entirely different business model that will allow Windsor FC to become self-sustaining over time using a 'Social Enterprise' business model"

Stott was keen to point out that the previous idea of a benefactor style business model would not be entertained to ensure that the club survives for many years to come.

Frazer Silvey (Commercial Director), who has been instrumental in progress so far, read statements from local dignatries including one from the Mayor Catherine Bursnall who said "I would like to offer my support to the Directors and supporters of Windsor Football Club in their bid to form a new Club for the town of Windsor and its surrounding area. Their desire to create a strong, community based club is excellent news for Royal Borough residents."

Windsor MP, Adam Afriyie, also provided a short statement that said "Local football is right at the heart of local communities and brings enjoyment to families and fans alike. I very much hope that the future of a local Windsor Club can be secured."

BBC commentator and Club President Barry Davies is also backing the new club and said "Lessons have been learned and I trust that the business plan put together, backed by The Mayor, our local MP, for the youth of the community as well as Mums and Dads to get involved in the project will be viewed favourably by The Football Association. After spending 35 years on Match of the Day, I have seen a fair mixture of ups and downs and I look forward to Windsor FC's rising position among the essential grass roots of the game."

Stott went on to update the progress on transfering ownership if the old clubs assests to the new club.

RSM Tenon have been appointed a liquidators and will work closely with Stott to ensure a smooth change from old to new.

The lease is still a major factor to be completely resolved and should be finalised very soon.

The emphasis on the aspect of the community club was then discussed outlining the link-up with New Windsor Youth which had originally been set up over the last couple of seasons with Windsor & Eton.

New Windsor have agreed to change their name to Windsor FC Youth with a number of their sides playing in the same strip as the Windsor FC 1st team.

This will provide a key pathway for the recognised young talent in the area to progress firstly into the clubs under 18 and reserve side and then into the first team.

There are also many improvements planned for the ground commencing with 3G pitches replacing the training area at the back of the ground.

Future works will see a total renovation of the ground to include new stand and a gym complex at the Soldiers Lane end of the ground along with a new stand to replace the existing one.

The introduction of the 3G pitches will provide steady income to help support the club and the new gym complex will only go to further the growth of the club.

There was an announcement of a new shirt sponsor in Helen & Douglas House who supply hospice care for children and young adults.

Tudor Wholesale Foods have also been brought in as catering sponsors to supply the clubs catering needs over the coming season.

The key aspect of the meeting saw the announcement from Silvey about the Founder Supporter Scheme to allow supporters to be a key contributor in the building of the new club.

Supporters and businesses alike are being given the opportunity to contribute to helping the club start up and have their name added to a lasting memorial at the club.

The scheme will cost businesses and adults £250 and under 16's £125. More details to follow.
