Windsor FC mascot Scotty the Stag swapped the tranquil open spaces of his Windsor Great Park home for the urban shopping jungle of Peascod Street last Sunday.
It was all in a good cause though, as the Big Stag was supporting his friends from Cancer Research UK. The ladies from CRUK dressed in rather dubious starred pink onesies, were promoting their upcoming Twilight Race for Life in Windsor on Friday 25th October around Windsor Racecourse.
After a personal request, Scotty made himself available to help raise awareness of this important fundraising event to the female population of his home town. Whilst being a reluctant ladies man, Scotty was still able to help assist his friends with his valuable local knowledge and extensive fan base ! Lea Blake Area Events Manager for Cancer Research UK commented "We're always delighted to have our friend Scotty the Stag from Windsor FC along to help us with our Windsor promotions. He's always a massive hit with his local public, especially the kids, Promotions are more effective and certainly more entertaining when Scotty is around !".
Scotty's own charity date with destiny draws ever closer as his Snowdon climb for Thames Hospice is scheduled to take place a week on Friday. Scotty's fundrasing link remains open at www.justgiving.com/Scotty-The-Stag4 and he still remains hopeful of hitting his ??2,000 target with some additional late support.
